I-Wen Yang

I-Wen Yang has a diverse work experience in engineering and project management. They started their career in 1993 as an Associate Civil Engineer at Santa Clara Valley Water District, where they were responsible for conducting hydraulic analyses and collaborating with stakeholders for flood control projects. From 2000 to 2009, they worked as a Principal Engineer at Municipal Water District of Orange County, leading a task force to develop a Water Supply Allocation Plan and ensuring compliance with state legislation. In 2021, they joined Osborn Consulting, Inc. as a Project Manager, overseeing sewer and storm pipe rehabilitation projects and leading technical teams for streamlining processes. Currently, I-Wen Yang is working at the City of Kirkland as a Senior Project Engineer, taking on leadership roles in engineering projects.

I-Wen Yang completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering from Stanford University from 1992 to 1993. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where they studied from 1988 to 1992.

In addition to their formal education, I-Wen Yang has obtained several certifications. These include the LEED Green Associate certification from the US Green Building Council in March 2021, the Low Impact Development Design Certificate Program from the Washington Stormwater Center in February 2021, and the Professional Civil Engineer (Washington State) certification from the State of Washington Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors in August 2020. I-Wen also completed the Project Management Life Cycle (PM9001X) course at the Rochester Institute of Technology in June 2020.

In terms of online learning, I-Wen Yang has completed various courses. These include eCARS03x: Electric Cars: Business from DelftX, Delft University of Technology through edX in August 2018, ENGSCI137x: Energy Within Environmental Constraints from HarvardX, an online learning initiative of Harvard University through edX in May 2018, SP29x: The Climate-Energy Challenge from HarvardX in May 2018, and EnergyX: Sustainable Energy: Design a Renewable Future from DelftX in November 2017.

Lastly, they obtained the Professional Civil Engineer certification from the California State Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists in February 1996.
