Smitha Krishnan has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and geospatial services. Smitha started their career at CH2M HILL as a Geospatial Analyst/Environmental Planner, where they introduced geospatial technology to analyze the impacts of transportation projects. Smitha also implemented GIS solutions and utilized data analytics for improved public outreach efforts.

Smitha then joined BNSF Railway as a Geospatial Program Manager, where they managed geospatial software development and quality assurance programs. Smitha established a Quality Assurance program to validate asset and operational data across multiple states, which was shared by all Class I railroads.

Afterwards, Smitha worked at the City of Bellevue as a Senior Technology Manager. In this role, they owned daily operations and strategy for software development, geospatial services, graphic design, and the eCityGov alliance. Smitha diversified the application development and geospatial portfolios by introducing COTS-based solutions with a "mobile-first" approach. Additionally, they managed geospatial implementations for various operational departments and established policies and procedures for data management.

Smitha is currently working at the City of Kirkland as an Information Technology Director. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Director of Information Technology and the Deputy Director/Senior Project Manager. Smitha'sresponsibilities include overseeing IT operations and providing strategic direction for the department.
