David Burgoon

Recreation Coordinator, Athletics at City of Kissimmee

David Burgoon is the current Recreation Coordinator for Athletics at the City of Kissimmee. Prior to their current position, David Burgoon was a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service from March 2019 to January 2020. Before that, they were part of the Giveaway Crew for the Orlando Magic NBA Team from January 2018 to January 2020. David has also worked as a Recreation Manager for Oviedo Recreation & Parks from September 2007 to August 2015, where they were responsible for performing difficult professional and administrative recreation work in planning, developing and supervising a comprehensive recreational program. David also oversaw, prepared and maintained four separate recreation budgets, planned, organized and implemented special events, recruited, hired, supervised and evaluated instructors, supervisors, and other staff, and generated corporate sponsorship sales totaling over $100,000. From October 2005 to September 2007, David Burgoon was the Recreation Superintendent for the City of Casselberry. And finally, from August 2015 to June 2017, they were the Recreation Director for the City of Apopka.

David Burgoon has a Bachelor's degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Central Michigan University. David is also certified by the National Recreation and Park Association as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional.

David Burgoon reports to Jeff Pon, Recreation & Leisure Services Supervisor. They work with Emily Salzman - Recreation Coordinator, Oak Street Park, Yokeenba Jenkins - Recreation Coordinator, Chambers Park, and Kristina Chavarria - Recreation Coordinator, Aquatics.
