Kurt Hilt serves as a City Councilmember for Lake Stevens since January 2016, where efforts led to the establishment of Washington's first municipal Veteran's Commission, aimed at enhancing access to veteran services and leveraging veteran talent in community development. Additionally, Kurt is a board member of the Washington State Board of Health and the Snohomish Health District. With a long-standing involvement in disaster response, Kurt has been a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Washington Disaster Medical Assistance Team since 2004, contributing to significant events such as Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey. As a Firefighter/Paramedic with Snohomish County Fire District 1 since 1999, Kurt founded The Disaster Medicine Project, served as a Government Affairs Liaison during major disasters, and managed a mass vaccination clinic during the 2009 H1N1 influenza outbreak. Kurt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Arts in Homeland Security Policy from American Military University.
