Curtis Porterfield

Curtis Porterfield is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as the Lakes & Stormwater Manager for the City of Lakeland since February 2013, where responsibilities include managing the city's storm sewer system and associated receiving waters. Prior to this role, Curtis worked as a Lakes Biologist for Polk County BoCC from February 2007 to February 2013, focusing on water quality and biological analyses, as well as overseeing TMDL and NPDES activities. Curtis began a career in environmental management as an Environmental Specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from February 2004 to February 2007, conducting groundwater and surface water sampling and analyses in the Southwest District of Florida. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science & Policy from the University of South Florida, earned between 2001 and 2004.
