John Bermel serves as a Chaplain at Fountains at Hosanna - Ebenezer Home Care since August 2023, focusing on spiritual care for residents, families, and staff. As President of Influence International since June 2009, John leads a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping public service professionals through the Solomon 365 process, emphasizing integrity and leadership development. John has been a Council Member for the City of Lakeville since January 2021, legislating citywide policy and managing financial operations. Previously, John directed security and emergency management at Carleton College from December 2018 to August 2023, and held various leadership roles at Apple Valley Police from February 1985 to September 2018. Educational achievements include a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary and a B.A. in Organizational Management and Communication from Concordia University-St. Paul, among others.

Lakeville’s rich history revolves around Lake Marion, Antlers Park, the railroad and its connections to the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
