Veronica Vianney Gamboa (Paramo Avitial) has over a decade of experience in program and project coordination, currently serving as Program Coordinator and Project Coordinator for the City of Laredo since December 2011. In these roles, Veronica has managed logistics for the Laredo Sister Cities Festival, created and overseen the Holiday Market by Sister Cities, and developed the Sister Cities Online Shop. Prior to this, Veronica was the Office Manager at South Texas Realty from January 2007 to November 2011, handling management, reports, billing, commission payouts, and invoices. Veronica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Texas A&M International University, earned between 2004 and 2009.

The City of Laredo is a city with a current population of approximately 257,156 residents and is located on the north bank of the historic Rio Grande River (or Rio Bravo, as it is known in Mexico). Laredo is unique in that it is the only city to operate international bridges between two Mexican states. The city presently maintains four international bridges crossing the Rio Grande into the Mexican states of Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon. Laredo is the United States principal port of entry into Mexico, located on the Pan American Highway that stretches from Canada into Central and South America. With 83.44 square miles and its current population base, Laredo is the largest city in the County of Webb and is the county seat of Webb County.
