Mark Emmerson

Mark Emmerson has a strong background in education leadership and advisory roles. Mark served as the Chief Executive Officer at the City of London Academies Trust from 2016. In 2019, they joined the Department for Education as the National Behaviour Adviser. Additionally, they held the position of Chair for the London Trust leaders Network at the Confederation of School Trusts from 2019 to 2022. Prior to these roles, they worked as the Education Strategy Director (Secondment) at the City of London Corporation from 2015 to 2017. Mark Emmerson completed a BA Hons degree from Leeds Beckett University from 1979 to 1982. Mark then obtained a PGCE Secondary certification from the University of Warwick in 1983 to 1984. In 1999, they pursued further education and earned an NPQH from The Open University. Mark Emmerson attended Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham from 1972 to 1979.
