Ricardo Fajardo's work experience begins in 2002 with a role as a Legal Advisor at the NGO Agency for the Development of the Amazon. In this position, they provided assistance to internally displaced people and helped relocate families and engage them in community projects.

Following this, from 2004 to 2007, Fajardo worked as a Legal and Policy Advisor at the National Business Association of Colombia. Ricardo played a role in achieving legislative milestones such as the banning of child labor, counterfeit medications, and tax reforms. From 2015 to 2019, they became the Head of Global External Affairs, responsible for developing and implementing the organization's external affairs strategy worldwide.

Most recently, in 2019, Fajardo became the Head of Business Intelligence and Insight at the City of London Corporation. In this role, they oversee the Business Intelligence Unit, advising on engagement approaches and focusing on government, businesses, and financial stakeholders.
