Sandile Mthiyane

Sandile Mthiyane is an experienced countryside management professional currently serving as the Countryside Manager for Epping Forest at the City of London Corporation since August 2024. Prior to this role, Sandile worked at Canal & River Trust from October 2016 to August 2024, initially as Area Operations Manager and later as Volunteers/Community Projects Leader, overseeing volunteer activities across London and Hertfordshire. Sandile's experience also includes serving as a Countryside Development Officer for the London Borough of Hounslow and completing a National Trust Academy Trainee Ranger program at Cliveden. Other notable positions include Conservation Trainee with the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust and Ranger at Howletts & Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks. Sandile began a career in wildlife as a Game Ranger with Zulu Nyala African Photo Safari, leading international guests on safaris. Sandile holds a Level 2 Diploma in Countryside Management from Reaseheath College.
