Akili Jones, MBA, is a seasoned Business Systems Specialist with extensive experience in business analysis and system management. Currently employed by the City of Long Beach since December 2019, Akili plays a pivotal role in the Customer Information Systems group, focusing on utility billing and Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems. Previously, Akili spent over a decade at Capital Group Companies in progressively responsible Business Systems Analyst roles, leading significant projects that enhanced operational efficiency and reduced costs. Earlier experience includes a Business Analyst position at Capital Guardian Trust Company, where impactful contributions were made to global accounting system initiatives. Akili holds an MBA in International Business & Finance from Golden Gate University and a BA in Religious Studies and Education from the University of California, Berkeley.
