Connie Rivera, MSW, currently serves as the Economic Development, BizCare Operations Specialist for the City of Long Beach, a role undertaken since October 2020. In this position, Connie coordinates the BizCare Program, which connects diverse small businesses with essential resources while overseeing staffing, training, and development initiatives. Prior experience includes roles as a Program Analyst for the Collective Impact Bureau and a Program Specialist with the Department of Health & Human Services, where responsibilities encompassed grant oversight and program implementation. Additional relevant experience includes administrative support for the CARES Act, consultancy in development and communications for a nonprofit organization, and various internships focused on health, recreation, and education. Connie holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and a degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
