Eric Lopez

Eric Lopez serves as the Director of Public Works for the City of Long Beach, a position held since June 2006, where oversight of over 500 employees is focused on maintaining and enhancing city infrastructure and the environment. Previous roles within the Department of Public Works include Bureau Manager, Project Management Officer, Tidelands Development Officer, and Tidelands Capital Projects Program Manager, overseeing significant projects and initiatives that improve public facilities and community spaces. Early career experience includes serving as an Analyst and Management Assistant, rotating through various city departments, and working as a Counselor for the UCLA Community Programs Office. Eric Lopez holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UCLA.
