Sergio Gutierrez is an experienced planning professional with a comprehensive background in land use entitlements, historic preservation, and advanced planning. Serving as Planner V for the City of Long Beach since July 2017, Sergio has previously held positions of Planner IV and Planner III, focusing on public outreach, accessory dwelling unit processing, and managing a public counter. Prior experience includes Assistant Planner roles at Willdan and the City of Moreno Valley, where Sergio processed various land use entitlements and contributed to significant multi-unit housing projects. Sergio holds a Bachelor's of Science in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning/Design from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and an Associate of Arts in Architecture from San Bernardino Valley College.
