Sara Aerne

Sara Aerne, CDP, has over two decades of experience in law enforcement, currently serving as a Master Police Officer and Neighborhood Resource Officer for the City of Longmont since August 2007. Aerne's responsibilities include coordinating the Crime Free Housing program and working on community projects under the Public Safety Director. Prior to this role, Aerne was a Police Officer with the Surprise Police Department from 2001 to 2007, where a career included serving as a Detective in property crimes, a Recruit Training Officer at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy, and a School Resource Officer at Willow Canyon High School. A career in law enforcement began in 1999 at the Flagstaff Police Department as a Patrol Officer. Aerne holds a Master of Arts in Counseling/Human Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, both from Northern Arizona University.
