Steve Sung In Kang

Steve Sung In Kang currently serves as the Central Area Planning Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles and has held the position of Director of External Affairs & Public Policy at KYCC (Koreatown Youth and Community Center) since February 2018. Previously, Steve was a Current Affairs Anchor at KBS America, where the focus was on issues impacting the Korean American and Asian American communities. Steve's experience includes roles as District Director for the California State Assembly and Executive Director of the Korean American Coalition - Los Angeles. Additional positions include Field Organizer & Community Liaison for David E. Ryu's City Council campaign and Vice President of Lilian Knowles House at The London School of Economics and Political Science. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Politics and Communication from LSE.
