Erik Gitschier

City Council Member at City of Lowell

Erik Gitschier has extensive experience in municipal services and engineering, currently serving as a City Council Member for the City of Lowell since January 2022 and as the Director of Plant Services at Greater Lowell Technical High School since January 2021. Previous positions include Superintendent of Highway, Equipment, and Drains for the Town of Lexington, as well as Executive Director of the Lowell Regional Water Utility. Gitschier also held roles such as Superintendent of Water/Sewer in Lexington and Head Filter Operator in Tewksbury. Gitschier began a career in maintenance with the City of Lowell in 1989. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and an Associate of Science in Engineering Sciences from Northern Essex Community College.
