James A. Pope

James A. Pope is an experienced academic and public service professional with a focus on business and operations management. Currently serving as the Election Commissioner for the City of Lowell since October 2019, James has held various teaching and administrative roles throughout a distinguished career, including positions as a Visiting Professor at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University and Universiteit Leiden, and as Professor and Dean at institutions such as the University of Toledo and Shippensburg University.
