Jerry Fleshman

Jerry Fleshman currently serves as a Senior Recreation Specialist with the City of Lynchburg since May 2023, where responsibilities include evaluating recreation needs, planning programs, and overseeing staff and volunteers to promote health and wellness in the community. Previous experience includes roles as a Recreation Specialist and Recreation Aide, supporting various neighborhood center activities. In 2024, Jerry held internship positions with Virginia Amateur Sports as a Sales and Marketing Intern, and G5 Sports Agency as a Sports Marketing Intern, focusing on partnerships and sponsorship opportunities. Additionally, an internship in Athletics Administration at Averett University involved organizing game day operations and assisting with departmental tasks. Jerry’s career began at Georgia-Pacific LLC as a Supervisor, managing a team in chemical recovery and power generation from 1994 to 2022, and earlier service included four years in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management at Liberty University, expected to complete in December 2025.
