Talyn Mirzakhanian has extensive work experience in the field of urban planning. They started their career as a Planning Assistant at the City of Calabasas in 2005 and steadily progressed through various planning roles, including Associate Planner, Planner, and Senior Planner. In 2017, they joined the City of Pasadena as a Senior Planner and later took on the roles of Principal Planner/Zoning Administrator and Planning Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Planning Manager at the City of Manhattan Beach since November 2020. In addition to their public sector work, they also gained experience as a Research Analyst at Bon Terra Consulting from 2003 to 2004.
Talyn Mirzakhanian pursued their education at the University of Southern California from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained a Master of Planning and Development (MPL). Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, Talyn attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology and Public Policy.
