Adam Suedkamp is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as a Police Officer for the City of Maplewood since May 2022. Prior experience includes a role as Deputy Sheriff with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office from October 2015 to May 2022, where Adam also functioned as a School Resource Officer at Inver Hills Community College. Adam's tenure at the Germantown Police Department from June 2005 to June 2015 was marked by extensive instructional responsibilities, including Unified Tactics, firearms, and various specialized trainings, as well as service as a SWAT Officer and Sniper for the Washington County Sheriff's Department. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and completed the Law Enforcement Recruit Academy at Fox Valley Technical College.

Under this form of government, all legislative power is vested in the elected, part-time City Council. This Council consists of a Mayor and four Councilmembers who are elected at large for four-year staggered terms. The Council adopts policies and ordinances and appoints a professional, full-time City Manager to carry them out. The City Manager is solely responsible for the administration of City business and may delegate authority to promote efficient use of staff time
