Tony Gabriel has been with the City of Maplewood since June 2004, where Tony currently holds the position of Police Sergeant, having previously worked as a Police Officer. Prior to this, Tony worked at SUPERVALU from June 1994 to June 2004 as a Loss Prevention Agent. Tony holds a Master's degree in Public Safety Administration from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement from Metro State University, and an Associate's degree in General Studies from Century College.

Maplewood, incorporated in 1957, is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States, is a first ring suburb with about 40,500 people in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, about 15 minutes from downtown Saint Paul. Maplewood has more than 30 parks and a great trail system. Under this form of government, all legislative power is vested in the elected, part-time City Council. This Council consists of a Mayor and four Councilmembers who are elected at large for four-year staggered terms. The Council adopts policies and ordinances and appoints a professional, full-time City Manager to carry them out. The City Manager is solely responsible for the administration of City business and may delegate authority to promote efficient use of staff time
