Richard Cox, MA, serves as the Police Commander for the City of Marina since May 2008, overseeing various operations within a comprehensive police department, including Patrol, K-9, and Special Events. Previously, Richard held multiple roles such as Acting Police Commander, Police Sergeant, and Detective, with responsibilities that encompassed patrol supervision, SWAT operations, and involvement in narcotics and gang violence task forces. Richard began their law enforcement career as a Police Officer at California State University, Monterey Bay, and also served as a Reserve Firefighter/EMT for the City of Pacific Grove. Richard Cox earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from UMass Global and holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice-Leadership from Brandman University.
