Jody Smith

Jody Smith has over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as the Engineering Manager at the City of Medicine Hat since January 2003. In this role, Jody oversees operations, completions, facilities, and reserves for the Gas Production team. Previous positions include Subsurface Technical Manager, where Jody managed a team in optimizing reservoir extraction techniques, and Team Lead, responsible for supervising production operations from over 1,900 wells. Jody's earlier roles include Exploitation Engineering Supervisor and Production / Development Engineer, focusing on the development and evaluation of the City's natural gas and petroleum resources. Jody's career also includes roles as a Production Engineer at ConocoPhillips and Gulf Canada Resources, as well as a Senior Field Engineer at Schlumberger. Jody holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
