Scott Mostert, MPA, currently serves as the Patrol Operations Commander for the City of Melbourne since April 2023. Mostert has extensive law enforcement experience, having worked at the Melbourne Police Department from November 1993 to March 2023 in various roles including Police Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Officer/Detective. Prior to that, Mostert was a Police Officer for the Cocoa Beach Police Department from January 1992 to November 1993. Scott Mostert's career began in the United States Air Force, where an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist position was held from March 1985 to March 1991. Academically, Mostert holds a Master of Public Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology (2016-2018), a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida (1999-2001), and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Brevard Community College (1984-1999).
