Williams Matthew has extensive experience in law enforcement, serving as the Director of Law Enforcement at Merced Community College since September 2017 and as a Police Captain in the City of Merced since January 1989. In the City of Merced, Williams Matthew has held various leadership roles, including Officer, FTO, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and managed the Special Operations Unit while also serving as a Terrorism Liaison Coordinator and SWAT Team Leader/Commander. Williams Matthew's military background includes serving as a Sergeant in the US Army from March 1983 to February 1987, where responsibilities included being a sniper and training manager. Academically, Williams Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute & University and an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Merced Community College.
