Toyia Pointer

Toyia Pointer serves as the Manager of Historic Preservation for the City of Mesquite since December 2019 and also holds the position of Executive Director for Historic Mesquite Inc. Previously, Toyia Pointer worked as the Heritage Park Coordinator (Museum Director) for the City of Frisco from October 2016 to December 2019 and as Museum Curator and Library Assistant for the City of Carrollton from July 1998 to October 2016. Educational qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies with a focus on Museum Collection Care from The George Washington University, along with Bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and Art History from the University of Oklahoma, and a Certificat de langue et civilisation françaises from Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne.
