Roberto Alonzo, PE, is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in public works and transportation engineering. Currently serving as the Public Works Division Manager at the City of Milpitas since July 2018, Roberto oversees various sections including Transportation, Traffic, and Land Development, managing the review of improvement plans and development applications. Previous roles include Project Engineer at Mott MacDonald and Deenscorp, where responsibilities involved project management and design engineering for significant infrastructure projects, including the High-Speed Train project. Roberto’s earlier experience spans various firms such as HNTB and Transmetrics, focusing on urban planning, traffic studies, and utility design. Roberto holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering from San José State University and began a professional journey with a student internship at the San Francisco Department of Parking and Traffic.
