Caryn Scheel

Youth Engagement Coordinator at City of Minneapolis

Caryn Scheel serves as the Youth Engagement Coordinator for the City of Minneapolis, where responsibilities include recruiting and managing over 400 high school students as election judges and involving students in elections and voter education initiatives. Caryn's previous experience includes roles as Treasurer for Prospect Park Association and Associate Director at E.D.I.T., focusing on youth empowerment through equity, diversity, and inclusion. As Director of Program Development and later Program Strategies Director at the National Youth Leadership Council, Caryn led program development and research efforts aimed at engaging youth in problem-solving and enhancing service-learning experiences in schools. Additionally, Caryn has a background in editing and publication management from various organizations, including the National Youth Leadership Council and the American Public Media, and holds a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on Election Administration from the University of Minnesota.
