Jason Chavez currently serves as the 9th Ward Minneapolis City Council Member, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Jason worked as a Committee Legislative Aide in the Minnesota House of Representatives, contributing to the Workforce and Business Development Policy and Finance as well as the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Division between December 2020 and January 2022 and September 2018 to December 2020, respectively. Jason also held the role of Legislative Aide, managing constituent communications on behalf of several State Representatives. Between May 2019 and November 2020, Jason served as President of the Minnesota Young DFL, the youth caucus of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party. Jason earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behavior Management, Social Work, and Psychology from The College of St. Scholastica, graduating in 2018.
