Megan Conley has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and positions. Megan started their career as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Manager at the Minnesota Literacy Council in 2003, where they managed a large grant and supervised multiple members in literacy and education programs. Megan also served as a Crisis Intervention Specialist at the Marjaree Mason Center, providing support and resources to domestic violence victims.
In 2012, Megan joined the City of Minneapolis as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Public Works, where they handled various tasks including scheduling, travel coordination, contract administration, event planning, and project management. Megan then transitioned to the role of Records Management Specialist before becoming a Management Analyst.
Megan also had experience in the academic field, working as a Scientific Literacy Librarian at Wartburg College. Megan was the liaison to the science and physical education departments, managing collections and supporting research projects. Additionally, they worked as a Reference Assistant at the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, University of Iowa, where they conducted reference interviews and taught patrons to navigate health science databases.
Megan also held positions at the University of Iowa, working as a Teaching Assistant and managing an introductory information literacy course, as well as a Graduate Student at the School of Library & Information Science.
Throughout their career, Megan has demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and management skills, along with a passion for literacy and education. Their experience in both public and academic settings has equipped their with a well-rounded skill set and the ability to adapt to different environments.
Megan Conley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of St. Thomas, which they earned between 1996 and 2000. Megan later pursued a Mini-MBA in Non-profit Management at the same university in 2007. In 2008, they attended the University of Iowa and obtained a Master's degree in Library and Information Science, which they completed in 2010. Megan also completed a Change Execution Certificate program at Metro State University in 2016.
