Austin Rice

Austin Rice is a seasoned Crime Analyst at the Minneapolis Police Department, excelling in evidence-based strategies and data visualization using tools like ArcGIS and Tableau. Since August 2018, Austin has contributed to the Strategic Analysis Unit, compiling city-wide crime data and acting as a liaison for information sharing among jurisdictions. Additional experience includes serving as a Firefighter for the City of Minnetonka, an Adjunct Instructor at Hamline University, and a Lieutenant as a Public Information Officer for the Blue Township Fire Department. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Kansas State University, complemented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Criminology from the same institution.
