Shonnda Smith

Shonnda Smith is a seasoned professional in public works and recreation with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently serving as the Deputy Executive Director of Public Works for the City of Mobile, AL since January 2019, Shonnda has previously held the position of Senior Director of Parks and Recreation at the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, where responsibilities included leading six divisions and managing program development. Earlier roles include Executive Staff Officer at the Louisiana Department of Education, Center Manager at Embassy English, Program Manager at Miami Dade College, Director of Community Programs at YWCA, Director of Education at Homecare Workers Training Center, and Program Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach. Shonnda holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Human Services Administration from Nova Southeastern University, a Master's in Sport Management from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor's in Kinesiology from the same institution.
