Monroe provides excellent recreational options for residents of all ages. There are parks, various recreational facilities, ball fields, tennis courts, Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center , Monroe Country Club and Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center. The city even has future plans to include a greenway to connect all of the city's parks. With a boast of amenities such as these, it is no wonder Monroe is an up-and-coming city. Yet, despite all its progressive growth and energy, Monroe still maintains the charm of a true southern town.
