Rory Lakind

Rory Lakind currently serves as the Code Compliance Coordinator for the City of Monterey, a position held since October 2021, which also includes a tenure as Interim Code Compliance Coordinator. Prior to this role, Rory experienced a brief period of seeking new opportunities after semi-retirement in August 2021, and previously held positions including Acting Captain at King City Police Department and Commander of the Pacific Grove Police Department from December 2014 to December 2020. Rory's law enforcement career began at the Houston Police Department, where extensive experience included serving as a Lieutenant and later as Homicide Lieutenant from 1992 to 2014. Educational qualifications consist of a Master's of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and graduate training at the F.B.I. National Academy.
