Julie Wilkinson

Julie Wilkinson, M.A., CAP has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Julie is currently the Director of Business Development at the City of Morris, Illinois, where they are responsible for developing the city's business development strategy and promoting economic activity in Downtown Morris. Previously, Julie served as the Vice President of Investor Relations at the Will County Center for Economic Development, where they built investor relationships and drove communication and marketing messaging. In the role of Senior Director of Development at the Greater Joliet Area YMCA, they successfully grew charitable revenue and launched a capital campaign. Julie also worked as the Director of Development- Major Gifts/Planned Giving at Illinois College, where they strengthened relationships with alumni and directed the marketing efforts for planned giving. Additionally, they taught as an Adjunct Faculty at Joliet Junior College and as a Public Speaking Instructor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Julie has experience in fundraising, donor engagement, marketing, and communication, and has a track record of achieving significant results in their roles.

Julie Wilkinson, M.A., CAP, holds a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they obtained from 2005 to 2007. Julie also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies & Spanish from Illinois College, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. In addition, Julie Wilkinson holds the certification of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) from The American College of Financial Services, which they obtained in January 2017.
