Matt Porter

Matt Porter is an experienced law enforcement professional and educator with a robust background in leadership, tactical operations, and emotional intelligence training. Currently serving as a Bola Wrap Training Council Member at Wrap and as the Founder of 1iC Training Group, Matt's expertise is rooted in over 16 years as a Police Sergeant for the City of Mountlake Terrace, where responsibilities include overseeing patrol officers, managing use of force reviews, and providing specialized training. Additionally, Matt leads the North Sound Metro SWAT team as Acting Team Leader and serves as a Leadership Instructor for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. With advanced degrees in Business Administration and Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, complemented by a foundation in psychology, Matt has developed and implemented significant training programs focused on emotional intelligence and de-escalation tactics across various law enforcement agencies in Washington State.
