Jim Burns

Jim Burns possesses extensive experience in emergency management and public safety. Currently serving as Manager and Director of the Emergency Management Department for the City of New Berlin since September 2021, Jim previously held the position of Deputy Director in the same department from September 2013 to September 2021. Their responsibilities included developing and implementing emergency management programs and procedures. Before transitioning to emergency management, Jim was President of Air Comfort Systems Inc, overseeing a team in the HVAC and electrical contracting sector from January 1984 to June 2012. Jim also has a robust background in firefighting, having served as Captain for the New Berlin Fire Department and in various roles in other fire departments. Jim holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Carroll University and has engaged in continual education through various institutions and programs related to emergency services and management.
