Karen Basran is an experienced Human Resources professional currently serving as a Human Resources Business Partner for the City of New Westminster since March 2020. Prior to this role, Karen worked as a Human Resources Advisor at BC Housing from October 2007 to March 2020, providing expertise in employee relations, performance management, and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Earlier in the career, Karen was involved in HR system implementation as a Business Support Coordinator and served as a Human Resources Assistant at Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society. Karen holds a Post-Diploma in Human Resources Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University, complemented by professional development in education.
