Shehzad Somji

Shehzad Somji is an accomplished finance professional with a diverse background spanning several key leadership roles. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer for the City of New Westminster, Shehzad's previous experience includes ownership of Pharmasave Drugs (West) Ltd. and Westview Pharmacy, as well as significant positions such as Assistant Secretary Treasurer for the Vancouver School Board and Secretary-Treasurer for School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky). Additional roles include Chief Financial Officer for the City of Powell River and First Credit Union, where responsibilities encompassed strategic financial management and organizational transformation. Shehzad holds a CPA designation from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and a CGA designation from the Certified General Accountants Association of BC, complemented by a degree from The University of British Columbia.
