David W. Smith

David W. Smith has had a distinguished career spanning several decades in various leadership roles. Smith served as the Executive Director of the Ohlone College Foundation from January 2006 until retirement in December 2011, and currently holds the title of Executive Director Emeritus. In addition, Smith has been involved in public service as the Mayor of Newark, California, where David W. also holds the title of Mayor Emeritus. Prior professional experience includes a Vice Presidency at Oatey Company from 1979 to 2006 and a Plant Manager position at Ethyl Corporation from 1967 to 1979. Smith's academic background includes studying for an MBA at LSU and earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Industrial Management from Michigan Technological University.
