Kenya Travitt, MPA, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in education, grant management, and outdoor recreation. Currently serving as the Director of Camp Watershed and Manager of the City of Newark's Pequannock Watershed Recreation Facility since November 2016, Kenya oversees a 35,000-acre forest, ensuring high-quality visitor services and resource protection. Prior experience includes tenure as a high school English teacher at Newark Public Schools, where dynamic lesson plans were developed for grades 9-12. Kenya has also managed grants for various organizations, including the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and WBGO, showcasing expertise in compliance and data analysis.
