Michele Alonso

Michele Alonso currently serves as the Director of Planning and Redevelopment for the City of Asbury Park since July 2015. Prior experience includes a long tenure at the City of Newark, where Michele has held the role of Assistant Director of Planning/Supervising Planner since April 2006, overseeing the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Historic Preservation Commission, among other responsibilities. Previous positions include Principal Planner and Planning Consultant, with earlier experience as Supervising Planner for the City of Jersey City. Academic qualifications consist of a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Drew University.
