Omar Diaz

Omar Diaz, MPA, serves as the Assistant Division Director of Operations at the New Jersey Department of Transportation, where responsibilities include overseeing engineering, emergency management, and roadway maintenance to ensure safe mobility. In addition, Omar is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Farmingdale State College and has a longstanding career with the City of Newark, progressing through various ranks in the police department to the position of Police Captain, where leadership involved managing incident response and security for high-profile venues. Previous roles include Detective Lieutenant, overseeing crime center operations, and Police Sergeant, focusing on patrol operations. Omar began a career in public safety as a Senior Corrections Officer in New Jersey's correctional facilities. Omar holds an Executive MPA in Performance Management from Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration, as well as dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Education from Rutgers University.
