Christopher Morello

Christopher (Chris) Morello, MPA, currently serves as the Assistant Director for the City of Newport News, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, Chris Morello was involved in various capacities within the Isle of Wight County Economic Development, including Director, Interim Director, and Assistant Director from July 2017 to October 2023. Chris Morello also worked for the City of Newport News from May 1999 to June 2017, where roles included Administrator of Development Projects and Senior Project Coordinator. Additionally, Chris Morello contributed to Sister Cities of Newport News, Inc. as a Board Member and Chair of the Neyagawa Committee from 1999 to 2013. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration with a focus on City Management and City/Regional Planning from UNC-Chapel Hill (1990-1992) and a Bachelor of Science in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from James Madison University (1985-1989).
