James Shiflett

James Shiflett currently serves as a Programmer/Analyst III in Application Development on the Public Safety Team for the City of Norfolk, VA, providing application support for the Fire and Police Departments and the Office of Emergency Preparedness & Response. Previously held the position of Senior Microcomputer Systems Analyst, offering escalated computer hardware and software support. In late 2022, James completed a fellowship with Hiring Our Heroes as a Microcomputer Systems Analyst, contributing to customer service and IT support. James's military experience includes roles in the United States Air Force as NCOIC of Electronic Security Systems and Security Forces, with a focus on base alarm and surveillance systems. James holds an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the Community College of the Air Force and is currently pursuing further education at The University of Arizona Global Campus.
