Xue Wood, AICP has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, Wood serves as the Community Development Director at the City of North Kansas City, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, Wood worked at the City of Kansas City, MO as the Lead Planner from August 2018 to March 2022. Before their work in city planning, Wood gained valuable marketing experience as the Marketing Coordinator at Barr-Thorp Electric Co., Inc. from December 2014 to August 2018. Wood also served as a Planner at Mo-Kan Regional Council from July 2012 to December 2014, where they focused on identifying community needs, writing grant applications, and performing data analysis. Earlier in their career, Wood worked as a Student Staff member at the University of Kansas IT Department from September 2011 to May 2012, providing customer services and IT troubleshooting. Lastly, Wood gained practical experience as an Intern at the Kansas Department of Transportation from September 2011 to January 2012, where they conducted research, wrote evaluation reports, and coordinated projects related to transportation infrastructure.
Xue Wood, AICP, completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning and Design from Southwest Jiaotong University, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Following this, they pursued their Master of Urban Planning degree at The University of Kansas from 2010 to 2012, specializing in Urban and Regional Planning.
