Mikayla Fischer Schmidt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community planning and development. Currently serving as a City Planner and Community Development Specialist for the City of Northfield since October 2013, Mikayla assists the public with planning and zoning inquiries, conducts site plan reviews, processes various permit applications, and contributes to multiple development committees. Previous roles include Veterinary Technology Faculty at Dakota County Technical College, Equine Program Manager and Instructor, and Operations Director at This Old Horse, Inc., as well as Deputy Clerk for the City of Hampton, MN. Mikayla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Use Planning and Management/Development and Field Biology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
