Erik Tungate

Erik Tungate is an experienced municipal leader currently serving as the City Manager (Chief Executive Officer) for the City of Oak Park since August 2012, where effective policies and operational enhancements support the local government of approximately 30,000 residents. Previous roles include Acting City Manager in Hamtramck, Development Officer for Wayne County Michigan, and Sr. Project Manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where significant contributions were made to business attraction and development across various sectors. Erik's earlier experience also encompasses positions in business development at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and community and economic development in Hamtramck. Additionally, Erik holds an MBA from Wayne State University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and English Literature from Western Michigan University.
