Richard Battersby

Richard Battersby currently serves as the Assistant Director and Fleet Manager for the City of Oakland and Oakland Public Works since May 2014. With extensive experience in fleet management, Richard has held various leadership roles within the NAFA Fleet Management Association since 2000, including Chairman of the Air Resources Board Advisory Council. Richard is also the Executive Director of the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition and a council member on the Planning Committee of the Bay Area Electric Vehicle Strategic Council. Previous positions include Director of Fleet Services at the University of California, Davis, Fleet Manager at Contra Costa County, Assistant Chief of Fleet Administration for the California Department of General Services, and Regional Fleet Manager for Airborne Express. Richard began a career in the United States Army as an Ordnance Officer. Richard holds a cum laude Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University-Sacramento and additional studies at the University of Maryland.
